Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Cooking Guide

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is out now on the Nintendo Switch, offering a wide variety of different RPG systems for you to sink your teeth into. One of these systems is the cooking system, which allows players to feed their party and get a wide variety of different boosts. Here’s everything you need to know about preparing meals in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

How the kitchen works in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

The kitchen is unlocked in Chapter 2, when crossing the desert. Manana is in charge of preparing the food, but you must gather the necessary ingredients. Each dish offers different bonuses, like extra XP, CP, enemy drops, or enemy gold drops, all of which last for a specific duration in real time. Similar to the gem crafting system, you’ll need to collect a variety of different ingredients, either finding them in the open world or getting them as drops from different monsters.

Make sure to cook food regularly so that you always have a type of bonus active.

If you don’t have the necessary ingredients, you can circumvent the requirements by spending Silver Nopon Coins. When the cooking system is unlocked for the first time, you will only have access to one dish. To unlock more dishes, you need to eat new foods in different settlements. Each colony had only one dish, which can usually be purchased for a few hundred gold. You will come across different settlements throughout the main story and as part of some side quests. It’s good practice to eat at the canteen of each settlement you visit, even if it cancels your current meal bonus.
