In the world of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the world is divided into different colonies, each operating in its own area. Each colony is led by a commander and has its own needs and facilities. As you explore the world, you will find different settlements and associate with them. Here’s how Colony Affinity works and how you can increase it.
How to Increase Colony Affinity
At the start of Chapter 3, you unlock the ability to liberate settlements. Once a settlement is liberated, they are no longer your enemy and you are free to roam and use their facilities. In addition to settlements, there are also Nopon caravans, which have their own affinity chart. The way it works is that each colony has an affinity meter, which starts at one star and goes up to five stars.
You can increase affinity by talking to people around the settlement marked with a gold star, completing side quests for the settlement, eating at their canteen, seeing fallen troops, and supporting their troops in nearby conflicts. of the colony. Side quests offer the highest affinity, but since there are a limited number of them, you’ll also need to complete the smaller tasks, talking with people and supporting their troops.
Colony Affinity Rewards
At each star level, you will receive some sort of passive bonus. These bonuses can be cumulative if you receive the same from several Colonies. If you look at the Colony Affinity map in the menu, you can see the list of five bonuses offered by each colony. Under the Group Skills tab in the menu, you can see the bonuses you have, the percentage collected from the different settlements, and the bonus percentages granted by affinity.
Here is the list of all affinity bonuses:
- Speed Jogger: Increases running speed
- Item Scavenger: Increases item collection range
- Silent Step: Reduces monster detection range
- Shiny-Hunter: Increases chance of encountering rare monsters
- Slow digestion: Increases the duration of the meal effect
- Fast Swimmer: Increases swimming speed
- Caravan Call: causes Nopon caravans to visit settlements
