Rhythm Game Arcaea main story ends in July

The main story of the Japanese arcade-inspired mobile rhythm game Arcaea will end on July 7. Developed by London-based studio Iowiro Limited, Arcaea’s fifth and final main story pack, called Final Verdict, will cost $5.

The pack will come with more than four songs and a new lesson mode. A challenging feature, the new mode sets up four songs back to back. Prior to the release of Final Verdict, Iowiro Limited will be offering the Past Story Packs in one discounted bundle. If you already own some of the previous packs, the price of the pack will be adjusted to this amount. For the previous four packs, the bundle will cost $20.

Arcaea’s latest story pack update arrived in 2020, and the game has continued to receive paid packs over the years since its release in 2017. The main story follows two characters: Hikari and Tairitsu. Arcaea is a challenging rhythm game with an interesting “air notes” component and a complex, initially inscrutable story.

The release of the last chapter of the main story does not mean that Arcaea is closing. So far, Iowiro has only confirmed the main story conclusion, but that doesn’t mean the game will go away or have no future updates.
