Genshin Impact 2.7 and 2.8 Update Release Dates Announced After Delay

After a certain delay, Genshin Impact 2.7 Update will finally go live on May 31 after a five-hour maintenance period. Version 2.7 should last for six weeks, and then update 2.8 should go live on July 7.

As usual, the new update will be accompanied by a Genshin 2.7 Update Live Stream dive into what players can expect. The livestream will take place May 20 at 8 a.m. ET / 5 a.m. PT on Hoyoverse’s Tic and Youtube channel.

Hoyoverse delayed the Update 2.7 for a few weeks due to COVID restrictions in Shanghai, according to the company’s statement given to Reverse.

Genshin update 2.7 is expected to include more information about the five-star hydro character Yelan, which we saw in version 2.6. Kuki Shinobu, a 4-star character, is also set to make an appearance. Additionally, the Serenitea Pot will leave maintenance after the 2.7 update, and players will be able to place items there again.

If you haven’t already, be sure to claim primogems and free rewards as compensation for the 2.7 delay. For each week during the delay, Hoyoverse sent players 400 Primogems, one Fragile Resin, seven Hero’s Wit, sixteen Mystic Enhancement Ore, and 120,000 Mora.

Hoyoverse also recently announced a new four-star character Shikanoin Heizou, detective of the Tenryou Commission. His arrival date in the game is currently unknown.
